White Spice Bundt Pound Cake

Made this White Spice Pound cake from The Cake Bible for a coworker's birthday recently. It's called that because it's basically a plain pound cake with just a little bit of cinnamon, cloves, and cocoa powder. Little enough cocoa that it only counts as a spice and doesn't make a chocolate cake. First baked goods brought to new job! Ok, maybe second. Made and froze an extra 6" cake as a test flavor for the upcoming wedding cake. Also used some blood orange juice to make a glaze. Learned two important lessons. One... when dealing with a bundt pan with especially deep valleys like this one, be sure to fill it up all the way, or it will break right apart. Two... when making a simple, simple (d'oh) glaze, do not absentmindendly dump in all available liquid; gradually add enough to make it the right consistency. There, silver lining!
